A lightweight, do-anything pole with premium shock absorption thanks to our Control Shock Technology™, The Black Diamond Trail Shock Compact Trekking Pole is a shorter, smaller-grip version of our Trail Shock and handles a short hike on the local trail as easily as a week-long trek on the Continental Divide. Control Shock Technology gives the pole progressive absorption and controlled rebound under any load, and dual FlickLock adjustments let you customize the pole length for any situation. The Trail Shock also features our interchangeable carbide Tech Tips, which can easily be swapped for our rubber Tech Tips (sold separately) to accommodate different trail surfaces.

  • Dual-density grip and 360-degree padded webbing strap
  • Non-slip foam grip extension
  • Control Shock Technology
  • Double FlickLocks
  • Interchangeable carbide Tech Tips and low-profile Trekking Baskets

Offering damp and progressive 4-stage shock absorption, Control Shock Technology handles hard compressions without bottoming out and controls rebound for a smooth and comfortable feel.

Dampeners beneath the grip provide progressive spring rates from light strikes to heavy downhill plants. Rebound control located within the grip prevents ineffective and annoying pogo-ing for a smooth and quiet feel.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by a tad disappointing I assumed the same technology that Leki uses would be here in the Shock poles by BD, but not the case. For the money, if buying poles from BD again, I'd go with the tried-and-true Trail Back model March 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these poles I had been using a cheap set of trekking poles on my various treks and they would begin to rub a blister on my palm between my thumb and index finger. I began researching various trekking poles and tried a couple at REI and other stores. I kept coming back to the Black Diamond Trail Shock poles and after much research, I received a pair of these poles for an early birthday present. I used them on a 12 mile hike on the AT and they worked great! My hands never got tired, and they were the most comfortable poles I've ever used. No blisters and the trail shock feature was terrific. They poles were very easy to adjust and I like the wrist strap better than any other pole I've ever tried. Adjustment of the straps is very easy and they stay when adjusted. I expect to get many years of good use from these poles. October 3, 2013
