Mesa Tent is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent tent and great customer service to resolve issue The tent is "big" enough to sleep 2 men comfortably without being awkwardly cramped. The vestibule is plenty to store our bags and cooking gear, boots etc. I had an issue where the fly became sticky and a visible decomposition of something white & flaky/ I can only assume it is the material used in the seam. I was anxious about the fly loosing its waterproofing as a result of this. I contacted BD as well as the online distributor from where I bought the tent, and both parties were fast to respond. I was given clear instructions of what to do (photos etc..) and was sent a brand new fly. This could have been a batch quality issue, but with such customer service, I am happy to spend the money!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from sticky fly The Fly quickly deteriorated and became really sticky on the inside. This makes it difficult camping in dry circumstances were dirt frequently gets stuck to the fly. Also, the seam tape on the interior has slowly been cracking and flaking off. Black Diamond sent me another one but the same thing happened. This is unfortunate given the high quality products that they usually produce.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The rain fly has become a problem I have had this product for less than a year. I have used it maybe three or four time. Up until now it has been a great tent. The under side of the rain fly has become sticky. It is a pain to put on and take off of the tent. My hands become sticky and I must wash them each time a touch it. I store it my garage which is insulated and stays at a steady temp. I have no idea what could have done this. User or manufacture error I can not say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tent! Used this tent as I drove/camped across the country in a variety of weather conditions and it worked great. On my most recent adventure to AK, it was cold, cold, cold and very windy... and this thing was super sturdy and kept the howling wind out. It's also surprisingly spacious! Easy to set up, a little heavy for backpacking... but fits 2-3 people so weight can easily be split up. Also... I had the same problem with the rain fly as another reviewer (it became sticky with a white film and was unusable). BD sent me a new one right away! Such a great company with great products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product and awesome service I had this tent for many years, and took it out of my closet to use it after a long hiatus from service. The fly was sticky and I immediately emailed BD's warranty department. I did not provide much info other than the fact that I owned the tent and had bought it several years back. BD sent me a brand new tent within a week of receiving my email! No questions asked. Their service is unbelievable and this tent is easy to use and set-up, as well as light. I will continue to buy products from these guys because of the service they give and the R & D that goes into their products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy I am extremely happy with the Mesa Tent, as it performs as I had hoped. I use this tent for car camping and enjoy its quick and easy set up. It keeps the rain and snow out perfectly, and on the clear night skies, I set aside the fly to enjoy the stars and great ventilation. It's easy to adjust and secure to make it most rigid against strong wind, so that flap and rustle noise is minimum. I would recommend this tent to my friends and any other interested people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, light, and waterproof I've been using this tent for 8 months now in fall, winter, and spring and I am pleased. It is easy to set up, seems wind resistant, and waterproof. In the past I've had tents bending over from wind. My main complaint is that the doors open the opposite way that the rain fly vestibule opens. That makes it a bit of a hassle to zip open and crawl into and out of. The vestibules stay dry and dew free, so it's safe to leave your boots and gear there without worry. Some water will drip inside off the fly when the doors are unzipped. I have had no issues with the rain fly material coating decomposing yet. It is lightweight and has stood up to days of straight rain while keeping everything inside dry. The interior is well ventilated and dew does not form, but I wish there was zippered material allowing adjustable airflow and ventilation for more versatility in the summer and winter. The only other feature it's missing is an easy way to peek outside to check conditions. If the arches on top of the rain fly doors were a bit stiffer, one might be able to look out through the mesh and under them without unzipping anything. The stuff sack is about 1 inch too short to fit the poles, and it would be much improved if it included compression straps sewn on. The tent and rain fly fit will inside the storage bag rolled or stuffed. The space inside is comfortable for one or two, with room for gear, and clothes, and room it sit up and dress easily. The storage pockets are the perfect size and placement for easy access in the night. Bottom line: a rock solid little tent that is comfortable, lightweight, and performs well in rain and wind, but with room for a few improvements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Off to a great start Just received this tent as a gift a month ago and had a chance to use is once so far. Quick overnight trip but a perfect summer test. Tons of bugs, warm temperatures and a deluge of rain over night. (classic New England camping) Setup is very quick (I did it in under 5 minutes as I watched the rain head towards me from across the lake we hiked into) and held up to the severe rain we ended up getting overnight. Dry as a bone. Despite tricky temperature and humidity conditions, the tent ventilated pretty well and did not build up condensation. To get decent ventilation you really need to keep the vestibules open somewhat. Because of the design it is possible to keep the top portion of the vestibule open a bit without compromising the ability to keep your gear dry. Am sure in high wind conditions that would be less true but with high wind the need for ventilation would likely be reduced as well. I note that an earlier reviewed indicated that the tent poles we 1" longer than the stuff sack. I did not experience this issue. Like the tent very much after it's initial test run. I recommend it.
