Ahwahnee Tent is rated out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Garrett from Great Tent / Great Service at Black Diamond I love my Ahwahnee. We use this tent often on exposed ridges with high winds, super strong and lot's of room for two people and gear. In good weather, we have both doors open for enjoying the stars. I own tents by MSR, Hilleberg and Mountain Hardware.....the Ahwahnee is my favorite go to tent unless it's snowing....only because the vestibule is a little finicky. Set up just means following the directions......put the awning cross pole in first. I didn't and tore a small place. Owned this tent for 5+ years and BD repaired it at no charge. Kudos to Mike Elggren and Black Diamond. That's why my axes, crampons and harnesses are BD....these guys rock.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ken from Frustrating to Set Up I've never had to wrestle a tent to get it set up before. But I do now. It is the most finicky, frustrating tent to set up I've ever owned. For many years I owned a Bibler Bombshelter -- the four-person version of the Ahwahnee -- so I'm familiar with the design. My Bombshelter was never a problem to set up. Easy-peazy. But I dread the thought of trying to set this tent up in a storm, when I'm tired, hungry and cold. The Ahwanee's best feature, and the reason I bought it in the first place, is the two doors that zip all the way down. When I'm camped on some remote beach or in the middle of the desert, I have unobstructed views. And isn't that why we go in the first place?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christopher from Just Rad! This tent it absolutely incredible. No, not the easiest to set up, but after it's all said and done this is one of the most amazing tents ever. I'd even go as far as saying it's bomb proof. The giant doors are the best feature ever. And the vestibule adds ample storage! We've used it in the snow, dirt, sand, and campgrounds, and the like. My wife and I and our baby boy were as snug as bugs in a rug. Snow, rain, sleet, wind, whatever, this thing keeps it out. I could go on and on... Well one last thing, it's absolutely beautiful. Done.
