Rated 4 out of 5 by OK, but not a Deploy Shovel digs great and is light. Stores easier than my old shovel. Was a little disappointed because I thought I was getting a Deploy shovel...like the longer handle on this though. March 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best backcountry shovel Best shovel out there. Light weight, sturdy, and moves snow faster than a road plough. January 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Need for the Quiver of Tools, Sweet Its simple. I have used and abused this shovel, even when prying snowblocks/ice when repairing base camp, no problems. Get it in your quiver and you will be glad you did. June 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Used and Abused The Transfer 7 has been my shovel for years. I dig many, many holes with it in my job. I love the extendable handle and larger blade. It chops through avalanche debris and can take a stomping with my boot. I'd order another one in a second if my first one ever wore out! June 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The shovel you want Though it's the biggest and bulkiest of the BD shovel line, it has fit in all of my packs no problem. I used to have a Deploy because it was so tiny and slim, however, when it came down to moving a lot of snow in a hurry I prefer the Transfer 7, with a longer shaft and bigger blade. It's not that much bulkier when it's broken down in your pack, and it is WAY more efficient. It's a great shovel and totally worth the extra couple ounces. June 6, 2013
