How-to Video: Fitting Black Diamond Gloves and Mitts

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Warm mittens My wife has Raynauds , and it's very hard for her to keep her hands warm. Especially during snow skiing. Bought these gloves with the hopes of her skiing for a week in Tahoe without cold hands. These mittens did good. She did put on a pair of wool liners underneath the mittens. However, even if She took the mittens off & her figures got cold, when She put the mittens back on, her fingers did warm back up!!! Even going up the ski lift!!! I would recommend these mittens!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Best mitts EVER! These mitts are by far the best mitts I have ever owned. I purchased these recently for a snowboarding trip and my hands never got cold. I have Raynaud's syndrome so my hands and feet stay cold all the time, and for once in my life my hands were the warmest part of my body. These mitts were WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! FYI, they run a bit big, so order a size down (I ordered a size down even with wrist guards and the fit was perfect). February 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Bang-For-The-Buck Warmth! Got these for my Better Half and I also have a pair. Great application of materials and construction. Leather on the palm, for wear resistance, and nylon at the non-wear areas. Trigger finger in the liner pretty much offsets most of a mitten's lack of tactile feel, while keeping the expected warmth of a mitten. My go to glove [mitten] for cold days. Probably the best bang-for-the-buck offering in the prolific line of BD gloves. January 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not nearly as warm as I expected! I've purchased Mercury mitts in the past and they have been very warm but seem to "pack out" after a year or two and become more or less like a thin mitten at best. It was time to purchase a new pair this year and I skied with them yesterday for the first time. It was an average of 25 degrees all day with that perfect Utah bluebird sky and bright sun. My hands were cold within an hour and had to use hand warmers for the rest of the day. Bottom line….I was not impressed and I feel the quality has gone downhill!! January 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Could not be better! Bought for my daughter in Colorado, a rock climber, hiker and snow skier. She is also a civil engineer and works in outdoor conditions there. So far she has worn them down to minus 9 and many days toping out at 10 degrees. Loves the extra finger slot. Every conversation by phone or email begins with " Dad those mittens are fantastic ! " We are from Alabama and she says they are the first hand gear that has kept her hands warm. It is nice to give someone a gift they truly love. She has other Black Diamond gear and swears by what you make. I now know where to shop next Christmas, with confidence. January 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great frigid temp mit I am a ski instructor and after my first week of teaching in below 10 degree weather, I decided I needed a heavy duty mit. I was surprised that my hand size on the chart was actually a medium because I have tiny hands, so I went with my gut and ordered a small. They fit perfectly! Such a great mit for cold and windy days. Beware-any temp above 25 degrees and I end up taking them off to let my hands cool down :) not a bad problem to have if you ask me... January 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A-mazing - best mitts ever; bring on the cold! I have the worst circulation on the planet and need gloves/mitts that can work miracles to keep me warm. These mitts do just that! In-fact, I had to swap out to some lighter weight gloves during a winter hike (20 degrees & snowy)because my hands got too warm! (That has never happened to me before!) I cannot wait for ice climbing season - I'm not worried my hands will be freezing and I'll be huddled with hand warmers and other people's mitts this time around. These things are rock solid - I'm sure I'll be continuously amazed by how toasty my hands are this's like a whole new world for me already! Cheers to you BD for an amazing product! December 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mercury Mitt is my favorite cold weather item! I wear this mitt all winter long. On really cold days, I ski or snowboard in it. When I hike, it's always in my pack as warm up or emergency gear. My fingers never get cold. It's amazing. And the liner doesn't pack out. I bought a second pair for the color, not because the first were work out! May 20, 2013
