Love these mitts. Comfortable in all temperatures. Well planned. Cozy and soft, its like putting my hands in a luxury hotel room each time I put them on. Thank you Black Diamond.

It works extremely well in that it can be removed and put on with relative ease when digital dexterity warrants it. One niggling thing: my large mercury mitts don't like to fit in through the straps of my BD ski poles with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brian Bullet proof glove that won't leave you out in the cold
After about 10 years of faithful service from my previous pair of Mercury Mitts I am replacing them with a new pair. My hands tend to get cold, and I haven't found a better pair of gloves for cold Colorado snowboarding.

I suffer from Raynaud's disease, so I have VERY cold hands. I have tried many type of mittens for skiing. I just returned from a ski trip this weekend. Temps were in the 30's and 40's. The mittens were similar to others that I have tried like The North Face higher end mittens. I was hoping I could go without using hand warmers as well, but that was not possible, I still had to use them. I don't like the separate index finger in the liner, I always kept my fingers together for warmth. For the price, they are a good buy compared to others.

I've owned my Black Diamond ski mittens for many years of excellent use. I bought my wife a pair and she likes their warmth and protection from snow getting in the gloves.

the single finger is a pain, but bypassing it helps with the hand warmth and the ability to remove the liner so it can dry in a short period of time is great.
needs more friction materal on the palm to hang onto a shovel better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dan Excellent mitten! Runs large
I bought this to handle bicycle commuting in an exceptionally cold winter in the upper Midwest; I have not been disappointed. The mittens are very high quality, and keep my hands warm when it's as low as zero degrees.
The exact temperature rating is subjective, I'm sure, as different people's hands work differently, but I've been satisfied.
I've read other reviews that note they tend to run large - they do. I have about a 9.5"/9.75" hand; a pair of another brand's XXL lobster claw cycling gloves is too small, while the Black Diamond Mercury Mitts in a Large size are still roomy.

After 15 + years trying to keep hands warm snowblowing in Chicaoland, these did the trick. Have tried all sorts of mitts before only to be disappointed, these kept fingers and palms warm while snowblowing long driveway when temps were at record -15 outside.
I researched this mitt so much down to every detail and was very pleased when I saw it in my hands and looked carefully at every stich and cord.
