Stance Belay Insulated Pants is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for use in really cold temps. I haven't gotten to use these in a mountaineering trip yet, but they have gotten plenty of use lately with our cold weather. We've been reaching the negatives at night and morning and single digit days. Having the need to still get out hiking and exercising, these things work awesome. I've been also excited taking the dog out for his exercise knowing that we'll both be comfortable now. Last time out was 4-6 degrees and about 5-10mph wind and I couldn't even tell I was out of the house. I can't wait until they get use on Mt Baker and Mt Rainier. Great product and worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them I've had these for 2 years now and if I end up destroying them I will definitely get a new pair. When I first got them I was a bit concerned they wouldn't last long because they seem more frail compared to my old Arcteryx Atom LT but I have been proven wrong. These pants are great and tough for a light, packable insulated pants. I have used them on ski touring trips, while ice climbing and a few moderate mountaineering trips. They've always kept me warm when I needed it. Definitely a good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GAME CHANGER! I can now hang in the outdoors, in the snow and be comfortable! I have spent years working on the perfect layering system and there is just no getting around standing in the cold after doing physical activity, you HAVE to put on an outside layer that is warm and easy to get on over boots. Backcountry skiing, ice climbing. I can get these on and off, and back on again when I need with minimal effort and be comfortable. I got a size up to make sure I can fit them over whatever I'm wearing. My only two wishes is that the waist be a little easier to tighten and the outer material be a tougher for less then ideal weather. When I got mine the women's hadn't come out so I have a pair of the mens and LOVE them!! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I. LOVE. THESE. PANTS. These things are amazing. I always seem to get cold and then layer up top. Who would thought that putting warm pants on would make you... warmer?!?! I'm not one of those people who always has a full rack and cord and prussiks and pulleys and atcs on my harness so I wear these belaying all the time, they fit over a harness (with minimal gear) really well. I typically keep the button undone and buckle the belt over my belay loop so the loop is sticking out of the crotch. and then big puffy on over that and I am snug as a big while belaying Very easy to put on while wearing climbing shoes without unzipping and the zips are great while wearing boots and crampons. I unfortunately have kicked a few holes in them with my crampons and the material is pretty flimsy so it rips and tears easily which is my only complaint. But that's nobody's fault but mine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to for extreme conditions These pants are my go to for extreme conditions. I work in the Arctic during winter and these are my "hanging around camp" pants. They also layer well over my outer layer for belaying ice climbs. The side zippers make it easy to take them on and off without having to take off crampons or ski boots. The synthetic insulation retains its warmth when wet which might have saved my life on a trip where a my kayak capsized in below freezing temps and I had to hike out 2 miles. I was originally concerned that the outer material seemed thin and I worried it would snag and tear easily, but so far I've had no problems with that. I'm 5'3" and 120 lbs. I got the small and they are huge, quite long and very big in the waist; however, the built in belt works extremely well at keeping the pants up and they fit over my outer layers. I would recommend getting them a little big to fit over outer layers if you plan to use them as a resting layer.
