Rated 4 out of 5 by Ron The best reliable blade on the market for pure ice. I am stickler when it comes to the blades I put on my carbon shaft Black Diamond Cobra's for thin or fat ice. The latest Laser blade is a good balance for placing/removal in a variety of ice conditions favoring slightly warmer conditions. For the cold brittle ice conditions of Montana, Wyoming or Alberta, I file the first 1.5 inch tip height down to about three fourths as tall as the current Laser Pick or the dimensions of the former Laser Pick a better all round pick in my opinion. I climb on a average of 45-55 days a season both for myself and as a guide using the old Laser configuration for the past three years, breaking only one, and they lasted a full season before they were too worn. I do a fair amount of soloing so I replace my blades annually, something I cannot say about any other picks I have used on the market the past 30 years! December 6, 2013
