The Vector is a great helmet - I tried it out with a quick run up Yellow Spur in Eldo in howling wind on a sunny Saturday.
The shape is solid, fits even my small diameter head snugly, with no sloppy moving around as you look up, down and sideways for gear.
It was light enough and fit well enough that I forgot I had it on, and that is the most important thing for a helmet other than the safety benefits.
All in all, great product. One small request for improvement - the padding on the forehead was fairly scratchy, either due to extra Velcro or maybe the thread where it was sewn. It was minor, and I'll find a fix for that soon.

This is a great helmet, great fitting, great venting and very light. I know there are lighter helmets these days but this is plenty light for me. I use it alpine climbing, ski mountaineering, rock climbing...and even as my mountain biking helmet. Is that a bad idea? Thankfully, I have only had it tested by some small rockfall and although slightly nicked and dented, but my head is not!
Excellent helmet, you cant go wrong with this one.

Nice helmet, lightweight makes it easy to wear without knowing it is on.
Improvements could still be made-It gets beat up easily, I mean easily...….Fit is large looking-I'd like a lower profile.

I am a climbing instructor for a boy scout camp. I have to wear this helmet anywhere from 10-14 hours a day and I love how it feels, how well it fits, and how light it is! I only have one problem with this helmet, When you wear this helmet as much as I do the padding starts to smell, a lot, It really does not matter what you try to do.

Took this helmet out of the box, adjusted, and wore it for two days of high angle rope rescue training, never once wanted to take it off.

One of the climbing rangers I work with raves about his, so I figured I'd grab one myself. What a great helmet! Super comfy, well ventilated, great fit and light weight. I love how the suspension systems packs into the helmet as well. I can't see this thing ever sliding back on my head as my previous helmets do. Great product!

Well, the title of my review says it all. The Vector helmet is brilliant. I've only had the Vector for 6 months, but i'm already addicted.
Just to make sure that next gen helmets improve on the current vector, I have to find a possible improvement:
The protection of the back of the head is unique to BD's designs (by the way, it's brilliant). But it's also the helmet's drawback. Let me explain: on long mountaineering routes my backpack tends to be fairly high, and then, the helmet tends to interfere with the top of my pack when looking up. It would be nice to keep the protection above the neck, but maybe with a little less thickness of foam.
Overall: it's gonna take a lot of work for BD's design team to make me select a different helmet. The Vector is that good.
PS: the headlamp clips work OK, but the material feels weak (too hard) especially in below-freezing temperatures.

I have been using climbing helmets for work for the past 26 years. I have used a lot of different styles of helmet. This the first helmet that does not tilt on my head. It is so light I often forget I have it on. This is the first helmet I have owned that I can say I enjoy using!
