Description

Perfect for the sport climber on a budget, the Black Diamond Freewire Quickdraw gives full wiregate performance without emptying your wallet. Two wiregate Quicksilver biners and a durable 18 mm (.7 in) nylon dogbone make for a light, all-purpose quickdraw that's at home everywhere from sport routes to alpine climbs.

  • Quicksilver wiregates on top and bottom
  • Durable, easy-to-grab 18 mm (.7 in) nylon dogbone
  • Dual wiregates eliminate gate flutter and won't freeze up
  • Straitjacket insert keeps the bottom carabiner properly oriented

Hot Forging vs. Cold Forging

HOT FORGING VS. COLD FORGING

We use two different forging methods to build carabiners—hot and cold forging. Each has its benefits and using both allows us to achieve the best possible shape, size and strength for each carabiner’s intended use. HOT FORGING, a process where both the rod stock and forge dies are heated, allows us to “move” the metal, creating more intricate shapes, such as our GridLock and Oz biners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality Draws - Beginners Won't Notice Any Difference The quickdraws are high quality gear for any sport climber. They are CHEAP, so for beginners or climbers on a budget, it just makes sense to go with these. Unless you've been climbing for a while, you won't really notice any difference with the gate action. Get a few to complete your rack, or just get a full rack of them! You won't go wrong with these. August 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by very handy to have around I love the weight of the quick draws and I love the accessibility. They are easy to use and clip into bolts. I would recommend them to anyone who loves to climb. May 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by very afforadle and gets the job done... This product, although not known for being light weight, is not overly heavy and goes relatively unnoticed when using less than 12 draws. They are durable and both the dog bones and the hardware do not groove, bur, or frey easily. This product is also very affordable and gives you a high quality option for buying quick draws with breaking into your bank account. January 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superior value play I actually love this quickdraw at any price. The fact that it's so cheap is just icing on the cake. I keep a large stock of these guys and use them to replace any suspicious looking fixed gear I find. I hate fixed gear, so dangerous! June 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by very nice draw Best entry level draw so far. Not to heavy, good handling and very well build. May 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by It works Super cheap draw that will get you climbing. Buy 10-12 and get outside. The dogbone is beefy and easy to grab. There is a piece of rubber that holds the rope end in place to make clipping easier. My only complaint is that the bolt end is SUPER floppy. Makes the draw a little bit of a pain to handle sometimes, but otherwise the product works great. May 2, 2013
