Monika is 23 years old and a member of the German national bouldering team. She also coach the climbing team “München-Oberland” and studies sports science in Munich at the TUM.

Career Highlights: 4th in European Championship in Eindhoven, 2013; 7th in World Championship in Munich, 2014

When did you first start climbing/skiing?

In 2003 I started climbing in a small climbing gym.

What do you most enjoy about your sport?

Bouldering is never the same, so many different moves and kinds of holds make it always a new challenge to get to the top.

How do you define success?

Success is, when I have fun while training and bouldering.

What inspires you?

The kids who I coach always inspire me. They have so many different and new ideas for solving problems.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate cake.
